Whitby, Ontario – Durham Region is advising residents of upcoming lane restrictions on Thickson Road North (Regional Road 26) in the Village of Brooklin, in the Town of Whitby.
When: October 21 to December 22. Unfavourable weather conditions may impact the work schedule.
Where: Lane restrictions will be in place on Thickson Road North, from Carnwith Drive East to Baldwin Street North, in Brooklin.

Durham’s drinking water remains safe despite seasonal odours

Whitby, Ontario – The Region of Durham is assuring residents that municipal drinking water remains safe, even if an earthy or musty smell is present. These odours are caused by seasonal changes in Lake Ontario and are common in late summer and early fall.
Where: Municipal water supply systems across Durham Region, including the lakeshore communities served by Lake Ontario.
When: Taste and odour episodes typically occur in late summer or early fall and usually fade as lake temperatures cool.
