Whitby, Ontario – On October 11 and 15, the Durham Region Film Office welcomed about 200 people from around the world for the “On Location with Hannibal” film tour. Fans of the show from Ireland, England, Wales, France, Germany, the Czech Republic, Poland, Japan, USA, Canada and Taiwan took part in the tour.

Whitby, Ontario – The Region of Durham will carry out its annual fall test of the nuclear public alerting system on October 29 and 30. The public alerting system is designed to warn residents and businesses in the unlikely event of a nuclear emergency. It has two components: an automated telephone dialing system to notify landline phones within 10 kilometres of the nuclear generating stations, and outdoor sirens within the three-kilometre area.

Residents in Newcastle and Newtonville asked to conserve water overnight on October 23

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is asking residents in Newcastle and Newtonville to conserve water on the evening of October 23, as the Works Department undergoes maintenance work at the Newcastle Water Supply Plant (WSP). Residents should refrain from indoor and outdoor non-essential water use during this time.

When: From October 23 at 10 p.m., overnight until October 24 at 8 a.m.
