Durham Region has implemented a new Community Safety Zone around the intersection of Simcoe Street and Conlin Road in Oshawa.

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department would like to advise residents that Winchester Road (Regional Road 3) will be closed at the Simcoe Street intersection in Oshawa from July 28 to August 1.
When: July 28 at noon until the evening of August 1. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department advises residents of lane restrictions on a portion of Taunton Road (Regional Road 4).
When: Work is ongoing until the end of 2019; residents will notice intermittent lane restrictions as required to safely and efficiently complete the work. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the schedule.

Whitby, Ontario - The following represents beach-posting information for Durham Region beaches. Test results for the week of July 15 indicate that one beach has been posted as unsafe for swimming due to elevated bacteria levels. Beaches are posted as unsafe for swimming when elevated levels of E. coli exceed the Provincial standard of 200 E. coli per 100 ml of water.

Whitby, Ontario - Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for the Durham Region area for conditions expected to begin July 19. A heat warning occurs when the forecast conditions include a daytime high of at least 31°C and overnight temperatures of 20°C or greater, or with Humidex values of at least 40 for two or more days.
