You can help stop water theft

The Works Department is asking Durham residents to help stop water theft by reporting suspicious activity around hydrants. The Region has plastic rings to help you quickly identify which hydrants are permitted water filling stations.

Construction on Mara Road in Brock Township

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department advises residents of lane restrictions on a portion of Mara Road (Regional Road 23).
When: Work is scheduled to begin on July 15 and should be complete by August 9. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.
Where: Mara Road, from just north of Main Street to north of Franklin Street, in the Township of Brock.
Why: Durham Region is placing surface asphalt on the road.

Construction on Adelaide Avenue East in Oshawa

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department will be replacing watermains along a portion of Adelaide Avenue East (Regional Road 58) in Oshawa, causing lane restrictions until the fall.
When: Work is scheduled to begin on July 8 and should be complete by mid-November. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.
Where: Adelaide Avenue East, from Mary Street North to French Street, in the City of Oshawa.
