The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department invites residents to give input about the new Durham Strategic Road Safety Action Plan at one of two upcoming public events.

The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department would like to advise the public of lane restrictions on Victoria Street/Bloor Street (Regional Road 22), around the intersection of Thornton Road South, in Oshawa/Whitby.

Don’t flush wipes into the pipes!

The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Departmentwould like to remind residents that bathroom wipes—which are marketed as an alternative to toilet paper and advertised as ?ushable—should be disposed of in the garbage, rather than being flushed down the toilet. Baby wipes, mopping wipes and sanitizing cleaning wipes should also be disposed of in the garbage only.
The Region’s sanitary sewer system is not designed to dispose of anything beyond human waste, toilet paper...

Donate household items to charity at Reuse Days

The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department is encouraging residents to drop off reusable items, free of charge, at Reuse Days. The items will be donated to Habitat for Humanity ReStores (Ajax, Oshawa and Uxbridge locations), Diabetes Canada and the Salvation Army Thrift Store.
