Durham Region is committed to managing our waste responsibly as we continue to grow faster than just about any place in Ontario. The Regional Municipalities of Durham and York have begun an Environmental Screening Process to increase the amount of waste processed each year at the Durham York Energy Centre (DYEC) by 20,000 tonnes.

Whitby, Ontario – There will be northbound lane restrictions on Simcoe Street North, between Bond Street (Regional Highway 2) and Richmond Street in Oshawa, as crews install water services in support of new development.

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department advises residents of lane restrictions on Taunton Road (Regional Road 4) in Oshawa.
When: November 25 to 29.
Where: Taunton Road, from Harmony Road to 240 metres west of Harmony Road, in the City of Oshawa.
Why: Water service work in support of new development.

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department advises residents of lane restrictions on Harmony Road (Regional Road 33) in Oshawa.
When: November 25 to December 14.
Where: Southbound on Harmony Road, from Coldstream Drive to 160 metres north of Coldstream Drive, in the City of Oshawa.
Why: To facilitate the construction of a new sidewalk.
