Help stop water theft in Durham Region

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department is asking Durham residents to help stop water theft by reporting suspicious activity around hydrants. The Region has plastic rings to help the public quickly identify which hydrants are permitted water filling stations.
When: Spring, summer and fall.

Whitby, Ontario – Durham Region’s Works Department has teamed up with the Town of Ajax to offer free compost to residents on May 4.
When: Saturday, May 4, from 8 a.m. to noon (rain or shine).

Whitby, Ontario – Durham Region’s Works Department has teamed up with the Municipality of Clarington to offer free compost to residents at a special event in Clarington on April 27.

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department advises residents of lane restrictions on Thickson Road (Regional Road 26) in Whitby, from Dundas Street East to Crawforth Street, to construct a new turning lane and concrete median.

Whitby, Ontario – Durham Region’s Works Department, in partnership with the Town of Brock, is hosting a diversion day in Brock Township on April 27. At the event, you can drop off electronic waste, household hazardous waste and reusable items, free of charge. There will also be free compost available for pickup, which has been produced through Durham Region’s green bin and leaf and yard waste programs.
