Durham Region will celebrate National Public Works Week (NPWW) May 19 to 25 to recognize the vital services our public works employees provide each and every day. Learn more about crossrides with our video

As part of Durham Vision Zero, Durham Region is making bicycle crossings easier and safer for cyclists, drivers and pedestrians by installing crossrides along multi-use path routes at intersections throughout the region.

A crossride is a dedicated space at an intersection where cyclists can legally ride their bicycle through the intersection without dismounting.

Change in user fees at the Region’s Waste Management Facilities

The rates for waste disposal have increased at the Region’s Waste Management Facilities to meet rising costs from contracted services while ensuring customer service standards continue to be met. Only loads containing chargeable materials, including mixed loads containing both free and chargeable materials, will be subject to the fee increases.
