Beware of water treatment sales tactics in Durham

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham would like to remind residents that the Region does not sell or endorse water filters or treatment equipment. The Region has been contacted by concerned residents inquiring about door-to-door salespersons who want access to test the water or examine the water meters.

Whitby, Ontario – Durham Regional Council today approved the 2017 Regional Business Plans and Budgets for property-tax-supported purposes, during its meeting at Regional Headquarters. Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham would like to advise the public that after assessing the condition of boiler #2—which is currently undergoing repairs to a damaged water tube—as a precautionary step, Covanta the operator of the Durham York Energy Centre (DYEC) has decided to take boiler #1 offline as well to assess its condition. Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham would like to advise the public that scheduled annual maintenance, at the Durham York Energy Centre (DYEC) has been moved up to accommodate the ongoing unplanned outage of boiler #2.
