Whitby, Ontario – More than 1,000 Grade 3 students from across Durham Region attended Durham Farm Connections, a three-day educational program that meets Ontario curriculum requirements and provides students with the opportunity to be a farmer for a day, through interactive stations with local farmers.

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham will participate in Earth Hour, on Saturday, March 25 from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m., by reducing lighting at several of its facilities. Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is advising residents that Covanta, the operator of the Durham York Energy Centre (DYEC), has restarted boiler #2 after taking it off-line for annual maintenance which was advanced to repair a damaged water tube within the boiler. Boiler #1 was restarted after completing the annual scheduled maintenance.
