Whitby, Ontario – The Region of Durham is advising residents of an upcoming road closure on North Street (Regional Road 17) in Newcastle.
When: May 5 to September 26. Unfavourable weather conditions may impact the work schedule.

Whitby, Ontario – The Region of Durham is accepting applications from local non-profit organizations to the Thriving Communities Fund. This fund supports initiatives that help prevent and/or reduce poverty for Durham residents.
What: The Thriving Communities Fund supports non-profit organizations with operational and/or capacity building activities that strengthen their ability to deliver programs and services. The maximum amount to be awarded is $50,000 per approved application.

Batteries dead? Don't let your old batteries go to waste! Put household batteries out for recycling during the week of April 28 on your regular collection day.
