Outdoor water restrictions during Port Perry water tower work

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department would like to advise residents and businesses that mandatory water restrictions on all non-essential outdoor water use, will be in effect from September 5 to November 20 for municipal water supply users in Port Perry, within the Township of Scugog. These restrictions are required while staff perform maintenance work on the Port Perry water tower (also referred to as a standpipe).

Whitby, Ontario – The Region of Durham invites residents, visitors and avid cyclists to register and take part in the Epic Lake to Lake Adventure Ride on August 26.

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham would like to advise residents that ambient air quality test results have indicated an exceedance for total suspended particulate (TSP) at the Rundle Road ambient air monitoring station. The June 12, TSP measurement at the Rundle Road Station was 126 µg/m3, exceeding the 24-hour Ontario Ambient Air Monitoring Criteria (AAQC) of 120 µg/m3 by five per cent. Whitby, Ontario – The Region of Durham Works Department requires volunteers, from Ajax, Courtice, Oshawa, Pickering and Whitby (including Brooklin), from both residential and non-residential sectors, to allow water samples to be taken from their internal plumbing, as part of the Region’s Lead Monitoring Program. Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham would like to remind residents that the Region does not sell or endorse water filters or treatment equipment. The Region has been contacted by concerned residents inquiring about phone calls from salespersons who want access to their home to test the water or inspect the water service.
