Road closure and water service interruption on Wilson Road North in Oshawa

Whitby, Ontario – The Region of Durham is advising residents of a road closure and water service interruption taking place on Wilson Road North in the City of Oshawa due to an emergency watermain valve replacement.
When: The road closure is expected to be in place from 8:30 a.m. until 7 p.m. on February 11.
Where: The road will be closed on Wilson Road North from Attersley Drive to Terrace Drive in Oshawa.
Why: To safely complete an emergency watermain valve replacement.

Whitby, Ontario – Durham Region is advising residents that the Ontario Works Office at 200 John Street West, Midtown Mall, Oshawa, will re-open on Wednesday, February 11.
Where: Ontario Works Office - 200 John Street West, Midtown Mall, Oshawa.
Why: The office was closed this past week for cleaning and repairs due to flooding.

Update 2 - Temporary closure of Ontario Works Office in Oshawa due to flooding

Whitby, Ontario – Durham Region is advising residents that the Ontario Works Office at 200 John Street West, Midtown Mall, Oshawa, will remain closed this week to allow for cleaning and repairs due to flooding.
Clients may visit the Community Resource Centre on the second floor of 200 John Street West to access limited supports. Ontario Works services and supports can also be accessed at Durham Region Headquarters at 605 Rossland Road East, Whitby.

Regional Council commits $8 million to support affordable rental housing development

Whitby, Ontario – The Region of Durham invites private and public sector partners to apply for the At Home Incentive Program (AHIP), which supports the development of affordable rental housing through Regional capital funding and application support services. This year, $8 million in funding is available through the AHIP.
To be eligible, projects must provide a minimum of five affordable housing units and may include:
