Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department would like to advise residents that construction work will close Simcoe Street (Regional Road 2), from Beatrice Street to Rossland Road; and Robert Street, from Mary Street to Simcoe Street, in Oshawa.

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department, invites residents to drop off Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) and Municipal Hazardous and Special Waste (MHSW), free of charge, at a special upcoming collection event.
When: Saturday, October 21, from 8 a.m. to noon (rain or shine)

Night construction on Kingston Road in Ajax

The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department would like to advise residents of overnight construction work on Kingston Road (Durham Highway 2), from 40 metres west of Westney Road (Regional Road 31) to 354 metres east of Westney Road in Ajax.
WHEN:
Overnight construction (after 9 p.m. until 6 a.m.) will begin the evening of October 15 and is expected to be complete by October 19. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.

Region of Durham testing Public Alerting System

Whitby, Ontario –
Residents and businesses are advised that the Region of Durham will be conducting its annual fall testing of the Public Alerting System within the 10-kilometre area around the Darlington and Pickering Nuclear Generating stations.
WHEN:
Testing is scheduled to take place during regular daytime business hours on October 24 for indoor notification (automated emergency telephone dialing system), and on October 25 for outdoor siren activation. The outdoor sirens will sound...
