The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department would like to advise residents of overnight construction work on Kingston Road (Durham Highway 2), from west of Brock Road to east of Bainbridge Drive; and on Brock Road (Regional Road 1), from south of Kingston Road to north of Finch Avenue, in Pickering.

Thornton Road to be closed south of Gibb Street on Tuesday for emergency rail crossing repair

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department would like to advise residents that Thornton Road (Regional Road 52) will be closed at the rail crossing south of Gibb Street on September 5.

When: September 5 beginning at 9 a.m. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.

Where: Thornton Road (Regional Road 52) will be closed at the rail crossing south of Gibb Street.

Why: Canadian Pacific Railway is performing emergency track repair work.

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is currently in the process of updating the Durham Transportation Master Plan. A draft of the new Durham Transportation Master Plan is available for public review online at durham.ca/tmp.

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department would like to advise residents of lane restrictions on Bayly Street (Regional Road 22) in Ajax as CN Rail completes road remediation work at the rail crossing.

When: September 5 and 6. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.

Where: Bayly Street, at the CN Rail crossing (approximately 200 metres east of Westney Road) in the Town of Ajax.

Labour Day will affect blue box recycling collection schedule

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham, Works Department would like to remind residents of changes to scheduled curbside blue box collection due to the upcoming Labour Day holiday.

When: September 4 to 9.

Where: Residents in the City of Oshawa and the Town of Whitby will temporarily have their blue box collection moved to the following day.
