Free virtual event to help seniors deal with anticipatory grief

Whitby, Ontario – Seniors in Durham Region are invited to a free, virtual event to learn about anticipatory grief.
Anticipatory grief occurs before death. It is common among people facing the eventual death of a loved one, or their own death. Learn about how to cope with this kind of grief, as well as services that are available to help you through your grief journey.
When: Wednesday, March 16 from 10 to 11 a.m.

Reduced speed limit on Saintfield Road (Regional Road 6) to facilitate road maintenance

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is advising residents and motorists of the reduced speed limit from the existing 80 km/h to 60 km/h on Saintfield Road (Regional Road 6) from Provincial Highway 12 to Simcoe Street (Regional Road 2) in the Township of Scugog.
When: Reduced speed limit is currently in effect until May 31.

Durham Region seeking feedback on design options for bus shelters along the PULSE Highway 2 route

Whitby, Ontario – The Region of Durham and Durham Region Transit (DRT) are conducting a survey to gather feedback on the design of new bus shelters along Highway 2 (Kingston Road and Dundas Street) in the region.
Where: Complete the survey online, until March 25, 2022.
Why: The Region of Durham and DRT are installing new centre island bus shelters along the Kingston Road corridor, from Altona Road in Pickering to Des Newman Boulevard in Whitby (excluding Pickering Village).

New traffic signal timing at Ritson Road intersections in Oshawa

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is advising residents of updated traffic signal timing at two intersections on Ritson Road (Regional Road 16) in the City of Oshawa.
When: As of March 11, the new signal timing will be implemented. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.
