Public Notice: Jurisdictional Change of Rossland Road

Transfer of Rossland Road from the Town of Whitby to the Region of Durham
This notice is to inform you that effective July 1st Rossland Road between Lake Ridge Road and Cochrane Street will be assumed by the Region of Durham, from the Town of Whitby.
This segment of Rossland Road will now be identified by Regional Road 28 in addition to the current naming.
Your mailing address will not change, and mail delivery will not be affected. There will be no impact to other services. 911 emergency dispatch...

Overnight Flow Testing – Drinking Water Distribution System

The Regional Municipality of Durham will be conducting overnight flow testing to trial its new leak detection equipment in the City of Oshawa neighbourhood bordered by: Colborne Street East to the north; Wilson Road North to the east; Bond Street East to the south; and Central Park Boulevard North to the west. Sanitary sewage forcemain repair

The Region of Durham has dispatched crews to repair two sanitary sewage forcemain (pressurized pipe) breaks that occurred at Michael Boulevard Sanitary Sewage Pumping Station in the Town of Whitby. Specialized equipment is working to divert sanitary sewage on site; however, some sewage may reach Lynde Creek or the green space around it. Staff are working diligently to minimize any impacts. The timeline for completion of the repairs is unknown at this time.

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is partnering with the City of Oshawa, Town of Whitby, City of Pickering, Town of Ajax and the Township of Scugog to offer free exchanges of damaged blue boxes and green bins at three physically distanced events.
