Upcoming lane restrictions on Thickson Road North in Brooklin

Whitby, Ontario – Durham Region is advising residents of upcoming lane restrictions on Thickson Road North (Regional Road 26) in the Village of Brooklin, in the Town of Whitby. 

When: December 22, 2025, to February 5, 2026. Unfavourable weather conditions may impact the work schedule. 

Where: Lane restrictions will be in place on Thickson Road North, from Carnwith Drive East to Baldwin Street North, in Brooklin.   

Why: To safely install a watermain in support of new development.

Whitby, Ontario – When the holidays are over, Durham Region will provide its annual curbside collection of natural Christmas trees. Natural Christmas trees will be composted with leaf and yard waste.

When and where:

Lane restrictions on Thickson Road North in Whitby

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is advising residents of lane restrictions on Thickson Road North from Crawford Street to Dundas Street East in the Town of Whitby due to a watermain break.  

When: Currently ongoing and will be in effect until the watermain repairs are completed.

Where: The southbound lane on Thickson Road North will be closed from Crawforth Street to Dundas Street East to maintain the flow of traffic.

Why: To safely repair the watermain break.

Road closure on Athol Street East

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is advising residents of a road closure on Athol Street East in the City of Oshawa due to a watermain break.  

When: The road closure will take effect December 14, 2025, and will be in effect until the repairs are completed.

Where: The watermain has been isolated on Athol Street East in Oshawa. The affected area extends roughly 100 metres east of Charles Street.

Why: To safely repair the watermain break.

Lane restrictions on Dundas Street East in Whitby

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is advising residents of lane restrictions on Dundas Street East in the Town of Whitby due to a watermain break.  

When: Currently ongoing and will be in effect until the watermain repairs are completed.

Where: Along Dundas Street East, from the intersection of Lupin Drive to the intersection of Craydon Road, lane restrictions will be in place, allowing one lane in each direction (eastbound and westbound) to maintain the flow of traffic.
