Pedestrian crossovers make it safer and easier for pedestrians to cross the street. These locations are designated using special pavement markings, specific signage and sometimes flashing lights.
Drivers, pedestrians and cyclists all have a responsibility to help everyone to safely navigate pedestrian crossovers.

Upcoming road closure on Bloor Street in Courtice

Whitby, Ontario – The Region of Durham is advising residents of an upcoming road closure on Bloor Street in the community of Courtice in the Municipality of Clarington.
When: From June 22 to July 3. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.
Where: Full road closure on Bloor Street, from Courtice Road to 45 metres east of Courtice Road, in the Municipality of Clarington. Detour routes will be posted.
Why: To safely install a sanitary sewer main in support of new development.

Whitby, Ontario – Durham Region Health Department has commenced its 2026 Beach Monitoring program and has posted the first water sample test results of the season on the Health Department’s disclosure portal, Check&Go! Durham. This online access provides area residents with real-time weekly inspection results for all 15 inspected local public beaches.
