Draft Growth Allocations and Settlement Area Boundary Expansions map available for comment
Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham has released draft area municipal growth allocations and draft Settlement Area Boundary Expansions geographic locations for public review and comment. An interactive map has been developed to facilitate input on the draft Settlement Area Boundary Expansion areas.
What: The draft area municipal Growth Allocations and Settlement Area Boundary Expansion represent the second phase of Durham Region’s Growth Management Study under Envision Durham, which is the Municipal Comprehensive Review of the Regional Official Plan. The first phase focused on the preparation of a Land Needs Assessment, which was approved by Regional Council in May, to quantify the amount of Settlement Area Boundary Expansion that will be required to accommodate future population and employment growth in the Region to the year 2051.
When: The mapping showing the extent and location of draft Settlement Area Boundary Expansion areas is available in an interactive web viewer, and input on both the draft mapping and area municipal growth allocations is available for comment.
