Indigenous cultural awareness seminar for seniors
Whitby, Ontario – Durham Region is hosting an Indigenous cultural awareness education session on December 14 as part of its Virtual Seniors’ Learning Series.
In this session, attendees will learn from George Couchie about Indigenous culture to develop a greater understanding of our shared history so we can live and work together more meaningfully and respectfully.
George Couchie is an Indigenous trainer and educator who will talk about some of his experiences growing up, the impacts of residential schools and the ongoing effects of colonization.
When: Tuesday, December 14 from noon to 3 p.m.

Note: This event is part of the Seniors’ Virtual Learning Series, presented by Durham Region in partnership with various community partners.
