Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham is advising residents of lane restrictions on Church Street South (Regional Road 24) and Bayly Street West (Regional Road 22) bordering the Town of Ajax and the City of Pickering.
When: March 29 to July. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.

Regional Road 50 in Brock and Ramara closed for bridge rehabilitation

Regional Road 50, between Concession Road 11 and Canal Road, in the townships of Brock and Ramara is closed to traffic until the end of October. The closure is necessary to safely remove and rehabilitate the existing Regional Road 50 bridge structure over the Trent Severn Canal. All traffic is being detoured to Highway 12.

Whitby, Ontario – Today, Township of Brock Mayor John Grant completed his Declaration of Office and was sworn in as a member of Durham Regional Council.
The vacancy occurred after the passing of Brock Township Mayor and Regional Councillor Debbie Bath-Hadden. Earlier this week, Brock Township Council appointed Grant to the role of Mayor for the remainder of the 2018 to 2022 term. He was the runner up in the 2018 election and previously served as mayor from 2014 to 2018.

Durham Region scheduling appointments to replace outdated residential water meters

Whitby, Ontario – The Regional Municipality of Durham will be scheduling appointments with property owners whose water meters are 20 years or older.
When: Residents may receive notices beginning the week of March 15.
Why: To upgrade existing water meters and update user accounts to allow the Region of Durham to conduct remote readings.
