    Lane restrictions on Regional Road 57 in Scugog

    Lane restrictions for road rehabilitation work will be in place starting the week of July 6 until August 31 on Regional Road 57 in Scugog, from 100 metres northeast of Scugog Point Road to one kilometre east of St. Christopher’s Beach Road, and from 300 metres east of View Lake Road to the Durham/Kawartha boundary line.

    Upcoming road closure from July 13 to October 7 on Zephyr Road, between Concession Road 3 and Concession Road 4, in the Township of Uxbridge for road reconstruction work.

    Road closure on Saintfield Road in Scugog

    Road closure from July 6 to November 30 on Saintfield Road, from Old Simcoe Road to 150 metres east of the bridge, in the Township of Scugog to replace the bridge.

    Tires not accepted at Waste Management Facilities until further notice

    The Region of Durham is suspending the acceptance of tires at all of our Waste Management Facilities (WMFs) due to an overstock. The suspension on the acceptance of tires will be in place until current site stockpiles are reduced.

    Health Department advises residents to prepare for the first extended heat warning of 2026

    Durham Region Health Department is reporting that Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) has issued the first heat warning of 2026 for north and south Durham Region. A multi-day orange level heat event is expected and anticipated to continue until Friday, and possibly into Saturday. The hottest days are expected to be Wednesday and Thursday, with maximum temperatures of 34 to 36 degrees Celsius.

    A yellow level heat warning is issued when weather conditions are short-term and may cause health impacts. Escalation to an orange level heat warning occurs when high temperatures and humidity are likely to cause significant health impacts or if the heat event lasts several days.

    Share your thoughts at the Public Information Centre for Ritson Road North in Oshawa

    The Region of Durham is inviting the public to share their questions or comments on the recommended design for the reconstruction and widening of Ritson Road North (Regional Road 16) from north of Taunton Road (Regional Road 4) to south of Conlin Road over the length of 1.75 kilometres in the City of Oshawa. 

    An in-person PIC will be held for residents to review the presentation and provide feedback:

    Upcoming lane restrictions on Trulls Road in Courtice

    Lane restrictions from July 6 to December 31, 2028 on Trulls Road, from 100 metres south of Bloor Street to Adelaide Avenue, in Courtice to safely construct a trunk sanitary sewer. Businesses will remain open. Multiple road closures will also be required throughout the duration of this project.

    Upcoming lane restrictions from June 29 to July 13 on Regional Road 8 at Siloam Bridge, between Concession Road 2 and Concession Road 3, in Township of Uxbridge to safely complete road surface paving.
