Medical abortion is ending a pregnancy at home using medication.

Mifegymiso is Health Canada approved and available for medical termination of pregnancy. Generally, this medication can be used up to nine weeks of pregnancy.

Surgical abortion (procedural abortion) is ending a pregnancy through a surgical procedure done at an abortion clinic. Generally, this procedure can be done between six and 24 weeks of pregnancy.

• The clinics are in Toronto and other areas of the GTA. They are not in Durham Region.
• You can call and make your own appointment without seeing a health care provider.
• It is a procedure done with pain medication.
• You will need someone to take you to your appointment.
