Bike Safety
If you are less than 18 years old, you must wear a helmet while riding a bike. If you don't, you can get a $60 fine.
Does my helmet fit properly?

To see if your helmet fits properly, use the 2-V-1 rule:
- Two fingers should fit above your eyebrow and below your helmet.
- The side straps should fit snugly around each ear in a “V” shape. The buckles of the side straps should rest right under the ear.
- When buckled, 1 finger should fit between the strap and your chin.
Is my helmet safe?
A safe helmet:
- Fits properly.
- Is not older than five years.
- Has no cracks, dents or damage.
- Has not been in a fall or crash.
- Is designed for your sport/activity.
- Does not have stickers, paint or decorations.
- Does not have a hat or high ponytail under it (a cotton hijab is ok).
