Child Immunization and School Clinics
You do not need to submit immunizations your child receives at Durham Region Health Department clinics. These immunizations will be automatically entered by Health Department staff.

Every time a child is immunized by a health care provider, parents and/or guardians must report it to Durham Region Health Department. Please attach a photo of the immunization record.
Please do not report immunizations received at school or clinics that were provided by Durham Region Health Department. These will be automatically entered by Health Department staff.

Book an immunization appointment
The Health Department is offering immunization clinics for students attending elementary and high schools in Durham Region who do not have OHIP coverage, a health care provider, or are experiencing difficulty getting vaccines through their health care provider.
- Vaccines are free of charge.
- Students must live in, or attend a school in Durham Region.
- Immunization appointments continue to be added. Please check back frequently for openings.
Students entering grades 7 and 8 in the 2024-2025 year will be offered school-based vaccines (Men-C-ACYW-135, Hep B and HPV-9) at school clinics in the fall and spring.
Walk-in clinics offering immunizations |
The following walk-in clinics are offering vaccines required under the Immunization of School Pupils Act (ISPA) to students attending elementary and high schools in Durham Region. This does not include Hepatitis B and HPV-9 vaccines as they are not REQUIRED vaccines for school. Before visiting, call the site to ensure they have stock of the vaccine required. Bring any immunization information you have to your appointment.

Diseases can spread quickly in child care centres and schools. Vaccines help your child develop immunity to prevent disease and limit spread to others. Vaccines in Ontario's routine immunization schedule are provided free of charge if you meet the eligibility criteria.

Grade 7 and 8 school immunization clinics | ||||||||||||||
The Health Department is providing school immunization clinics for eligible students in grades 7 and 8. Students in grade 7 and 8 are eligible to for vaccination at one of our school-based clinics. The vaccines are free of charge. The following vaccines are being offered at the clinics currently:
Students who did not finish their vaccine series will only need to get the remaining dose(s). A vaccine series does not need to be restarted, even if the recommended time between doses has passed.
If you received a vaccine through your primary care provider or family doctor, the ICON system is not automatically updated. Please update your child’s vaccine record in ICON if they received a Human Papilloma Virus (HPV), Hepatitis B (Hep B), Meningococcal C-ACYW-135, or Tdap vaccine from a primary care provider or family doctor. If your child received a vaccine through our school-based immunization clinic, update your immunization record (yellow card). You do not need to update in ICON.
