Have you moved into a new or resale house and need bins? 

Order your blue box and green bin

 You can receive a new resident kit to help you participate in our blue box and green bin programs. Each kit contains:

• Two blue boxes
• One large green bin for curbside use
• One kitchen container

We deliver kits for free. To receive a kit, fill out the New Resident Diversion Kit form. If you are moving to a new or resale house, please take your existing blue boxes and green bin with you.

Replace a broken bin 

Broken bins are replaced free of charge. Bring your broken bins to the following locations for exchange:

Waste Management Centre

4600 Garrard Road North, Whitby

Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 

Household Special Waste Depot

1998 Bowmanville Ave., Bowmanville

Tuesday to Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Fees apply for lost or stolen bins.

Some local municipal offices may exchange broken blue boxes. Please call ahead for availability and hours of operations.

Prices

• 23.5 gallon Blue Box (for containers or papers) - $11 each.
• Blue Box lid made from recycled tires - $13 each.
• Kitchen container for food waste - $4 each.
• Curbside green bin - $19 each.
• Backyard composters - $30 each.
