The Waste Management Centre located at 4600 Garrard Rd. N. Whitby is currently closed for bin sales and exchanges. Bins sales and exchanges are available at the Household Special Waste Depot located at 1998 Bowmanville Ave., Bowmanville. The Household Special Waste Depot is open Wednesday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Have you moved into a new or resale house and need bins?

You can receive a new resident kit to help you participate in our blue box and green bin programs. Each kit contains:

Two blue boxes
One large green bin for curbside use
One kitchen container
One waste management calendar

We deliver kits for free. To receive a kit, fill out the New Resident Diversion Kit form. If you are moving to a new or resale house, please take your existing blue boxes and green bin with you.

Replace a broken blue box or green bin

Replacements bins are free. Bring your broken bins to the Waste Management Centre at 4600 Garrard Road North in Whitby. The Waste Management Centre is open Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

You can also bring broken bins, for exchange to the Household Special Waste Depot at 1998 Bowmanville Ave., Bowmanville. The Household Special Waste Depot is open Wednesday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Some local municipal offices may exchange broken blue boxes. Contact your local area municipality for details.
