Automated Speed Enforcement
Important Update: Effective November 14, 2025, new provisions in the Highway Traffic Act, introduced through Bill 56, the Building a More Competitive Economy Act, will prohibit the use of Automated Speed Enforcement (ASE) cameras across Ontario. As a result, all ASE cameras on Regional roads will be deactivated to comply with the legislation by November 14, 2025.
The provincial government is shifting its focus to alternative traffic-calming measures, including speed bumps, roundabouts, improved signage, and public education campaigns.
