Designated Officers

A designated officer (DO) is a person from police, fire or paramedic services. They help measure the risk of infectious diseases to emergency service workers. Designated officers tell the Health Department about exposures to infectious diseases. They can call us 24/7.

Infectious diseases quick reference guide

The infectious diseases quick reference guide tells designated officers what to do if someone is exposed to an infectious disease.

Mandatory Blood Testing Act

The Health Department takes applications under the Mandatory Blood Testing Act. You can find more information in the infectious diseases guide.

All relevant application forms can be found on the Ontario Mandatory Blood Testing website.
