Child Disability Benefit
The Child Disability Benefit (CDB) is a tax-free benefit that can provide financial assistance for qualifying families. CDB is for families who care for a child under the age of 18. Impairments must be severe and long lasting, and can be physical or mental.
To apply, have your doctor fill out the disability tax credit certificate. Nurse practitioners can also complete this form. Send the completed certificate to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).
The CRA calculates your CDB after receiving your application. Your child must be eligible.
